Through the rebuilding, renovation, and expansion of our Round Building at Hadassah, we will significantly expand our capacity to serve Jerusalem’s growing population, creating a more patient-centered healing environment that provides the necessary resources to support the ground-breaking work of our doctors, researchers, nurses, and staff members.
Massive refurbishment is needed to transform this outdated facility into a vibrant hub of future medicine.
360 Degrees of Healing
When the round building welcomed its first patients in 1961, barely 170,000 people lived in Jerusalem. Today, Jerusalem’s population has swelled to over 900,000 and counting, along with the surrounding areas, the round building serves some 1.2 million people.
Hadassah’s Round Building belonged to a previous medical age, at the time, its design was considered cutting-edge.
360 Degrees of Healing:
The plan in action:

The current round building has 9 floors with the plan of expanding to 11 floors. The existing balconies in each room will be converted to create more rooms which will allow an extra 200 beds plus 17 new operating rooms to Hadassah’s capacity. This new structure will make the building earthquake and rocket-proof.
Hadassah UK is sponsoring the 3rd floor dedicated to Hematology- Oncology.

Through the rebuilding, renovation and expansion of our Round Tower Hadassah will:
- Add 200 new beds to meet the growing demand for patient care
- Renovate 17 operating rooms with state-of-the-art equipment.
- Expand treatment offerings and reduce the risk of infection.
- Allow for upgrades to combine research and clinical services.
- Reconfigure and improve the interior space on each floor so that the doctors and nurses can respond to patients more quickly and effectively.
The Round building has recently been named the Alberto and Vicky Saba Internal Medicine Complex, after the Saba family from Mexico, long-time friends and supporters of Hadassah.
